Terms of Service

You must be at least [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED: minimum age] to use PupDate. You can browse as a guest; some features (saving places, PupPoints, Rewards, connections) need an account. Keep your sign-in secure and give accurate information. One person, one account.

PupDates, reviews and place details come largely from other dog owners and public sources. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Conditions at parks and trails change quickly. PupDate does not inspect locations and does not guarantee that any place is safe, open, off-leash, fenced or suitable for your dog.

Always use your own judgement, follow posted rules and local bylaws, and check conditions yourself.

You are responsible for your dog and your own safety, including leash and licensing rules, vaccinations, cleaning up after your dog, and your dog's behaviour toward people and other animals. Hazard reports (for example aggressive dogs, wildlife or broken glass) are community alerts, not official warnings — in an emergency, contact local authorities.

Post only honest, first-hand information. Don't post false, misleading, abusive, hateful or private information about others, or spam. Some report types and confirmations require you to be near the place. We may limit, hide or remove content and apply rate limits to keep information reliable.

You keep ownership of what you post, but you give PupDate a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store and use it to operate and improve PupDate.

Location features depend on your device's GPS, which can be inaccurate (for example near tall buildings, under trees or with weak signal). Walk distance used for PupPoints is calculated on our servers from your recorded GPS and may differ from what you see during the walk. Walks with missing or implausible GPS data may earn no points or be held for review. See our Privacy Policy for how walk GPS is stored and deleted.

Pay attention to your surroundings while walking — never use PupDate in a way that puts you, your dog or others at risk.

• PupPoints are a loyalty feature. They have no cash value, are not your property, and cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged for money or cashed out unless PupDate explicitly introduces that option.
• Points are earned according to rules shown in the app (for example verified walking distance and new member connections), including daily limits. We may change earning rules going forward.
• Trying to earn points dishonestly — fake or simulated GPS, multiple accounts, self-connections or other manipulation — is prohibited.
• We may correct, reverse or remove points that were awarded in error or through misuse. Corrections are recorded in your points history.
• Points expiry or loss on account closure: [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED: confirm policy]

• Rewards are offered while available and may have limited quantities, eligibility rules, per-person limits and expiry dates shown on each reward.
• Points are deducted when you redeem. If a redemption is cancelled or can't be fulfilled, the points are returned to your balance.
• We may refuse or cancel redemptions linked to fraud or abuse.
• Rewards may be supplied by PupDate or, in future, by partner businesses; any partner terms will be shown with the reward.
• Shipping, pickup and regional availability: [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED: confirm fulfilment regions and any contest/legal requirements]

Your PupCode lets other members connect with you. Only share it with people you want to connect with. You can decline, remove or block connections at any time. Connection rewards are earned only once per pair of members.

PupDate may list local businesses and link to third-party sites and services, including Google and Apple sign-in. These businesses are independent of PupDate. We don't endorse or guarantee their products or services, and your dealings with them are between you and them.

• Breaking the law or these terms, or harassing other people.
• Interfering with PupDate's security or operation, scraping, or automated access.
• Impersonating others or misrepresenting your location.
• Using PupDate for unsolicited advertising.

The PupDate name, logo, app design and content created by PupDate belong to PupDate. You may use PupDate for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You can stop using PupDate at any time. We may suspend or close accounts, remove content or withhold points and rewards if these terms are broken or to protect the community. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.

PupDate is provided "as is" and "as available". Features may change, be paused or be removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.

To the extent permitted by law, PupDate is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for injury, loss or damage arising from visiting places, relying on community information, interactions with other users or third-party businesses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED: province, e.g. Ontario] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use PupDate means you accept the updated terms.
